The Village of Haines Junction strongly encourages all residents to consider composting. Compost removes up to 40% from the household waste stream. If you have no use for finished compost, consider collecting it to give to a neighbour who composts. Compostables can include all fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds and filters, tea leaves and tea bags, paper towels, kleenex, wax paper, and garden and lawn clippings.
