Skiing
With lots of snow and choices for all abilities, Haines Junction is a prime location for both cross-country skiers and ski touring enthusiasts. Below is a sampling of opportunities (most are in Kluane National Park and Reserve). For an updated ski report, contact the Haines Junction Visitor Reception Centre:
Easy
- Dezadeash River Trail (4.8 km loop with 2.5 km extension)
- Packed and trackset, this trail is a pleasant ski
- opportunities for seeing moose and other wildlife, lots of wildlife tracks
- trailhead: day use area just south of the Village on the Haines Road

- Kathleen Lake Trails (7 km trail network with a number of loops)
- packed and trackset
- trailhead: 27 km south of Haines Junction on the Haines Road
MODERATE TO DIFFICULT
- Auriol Trail (inside loop 9 km, outside loop 15 km)
- large loop climbs to the sub-alpine with excellent views of Shakwak and Dezadeash River valleys
- lots of snow, some steep and fast sections
- trailhead: 7 km south of Haines Junction on the Haines Road

- Mush Lake Road (21.6 km one way)
- an abandoned mining road to Mush Lake
- be prepared to break your own trail
- trailhead: 55 km south of Haines Junction on the Haines Highway
