Hunting

There are good opportunities for hunting big game in the Haines Junction area. The region has a worldwide reputation for Dall sheep. Other species include moose, mountain goat, black and grizzly bear.

Hunting licences are required for Yukon residents and are available throughout the territory. A registered Yukon outfitter must guide non-residents. Non-resident Canadians may also be guided by a Yukon resident holding a special guiding licence

Within the boundaries of Kluane National Park and Reserve and the Kluane Wildlife Sanctuary, hunting is prohibited, except for subsistence purposes by First Nations.
